Block Party Brownies
We recently participated in the annual neighborhood block party. Street closed off, kids racing bikes and scooters up and down for hours, everyone catching up on their summers and back to school. Lots of great food contributed by all. We supplied a family favorite - chocolate brownies. Easy to make, not from a mix, great chocolate baked in. There were no leftovers, so here's the recipe:
1 cup salted butter
4 oz bittersweet chocolate (We used Guittard's 72% Baking chunks)
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt4 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350
Line a 9x13” pan with tin foil
In top of double boiler, melt butter and chocolate. Set aside to cool
Sift together flour and salt.
With an electric mixer beat eggs and sugar until thick and lemon colored. Beat in Vanilla
Fold chocolate into egg mixture and blend thoroughly.
Fold in flour mixture
Pour batter into prepared pan
Bake for 25 minutes
Let brownies cool for 30 minutes
ENJOY - With or without a block party!
